10 Questions to Ask Before Buying an Industrial 3D Printer
3 November 2026EXPO3D Istanbul 2026 Post-Show Report: The First Edition in Numbers

EXPO3D Istanbul opened its doors for the first time on 17–19 September 2026 at Istanbul Expo Center, bringing every link of the additive manufacturing, 3D printing and advanced production chain under one roof. The post-show report sets out the scale of the first edition, and the opportunities it carries into 2027, in numbers. Here are the highlights.
11,224 visitors, 1,082 from abroad
Over three days, 11,224 professionals visited the show. 10,142 (90.4%) came from Türkiye and 1,082 (9.6%) from abroad. International visitors travelled to Istanbul from five regions: Europe, Russia and the Turkic Republics, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and North America. For a first edition, this spread shows that the show speaks not only to the domestic market but to the wider region around Istanbul.
87% of exhibitors met qualified customers
This is the report’s key finding. 87% of exhibitors said they met qualified potential customers at the show. Technical evaluations, one-to-one meetings, solution presentations and reverse engineering demonstrations on the stands became the first step towards new partnerships.
127 exhibitors, more than 320 brands, 9 countries
Global brands from Germany to China and from Canada to South Korea met local technology providers in the same hall. The products on show covered 15 product groups under 5 main headings:
- 3D printing systems: industrial, metal, polymer and composite printing, and robotic additive manufacturing
- Materials: powders, granules and consumables, raw material preparation
- Design and software: digital manufacturing, 3D scanning and reverse engineering
- Automation and post-processing: robotic production, surface finishing, heat treatment and sintering, hybrid manufacturing
- Quality and services: measurement, testing, quality control, production and engineering services
14 industries, one shared technology language
Visitors came from defence, aerospace, automotive and mobility, machinery and manufacturing, metalworking and casting, medical, dental, electrical, electronics and home appliances, plastics and composites, marine and shipbuilding, jewellery, construction, consumer products, and textiles and footwear. Professionals from very different industries were able to examine production solutions alongside applications from their own field.
Academia and industry in one programme
The 5th International 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Congress, held with the contribution of Yıldız Technical University, connected scientific research with industrial applications. EXPO3D Industry Talks looked at additive manufacturing through technology investment, return on investment, cost and efficiency, new market opportunities and international competitiveness. At the 2D and 3D Design and Production Training, held in two sessions on 19 September in cooperation with T3 Enterprise Center, participants turned models they designed in Fusion 360 into physical parts on 3D printers.
EXPO3D Istanbul in the international press
The show was covered by additive manufacturing publications from Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Italy, including 3Druck.com, 3D Adept Media, Metal AM and VoxelMatters. In Türkiye, it featured across a wide range of media, from business portals to technology and local outlets.
The next layer: EXPO3D Istanbul 2027
EXPO3D Istanbul returns on 30 September – 2 October 2027 at Istanbul Expo Center. The goal for 2027 is a more comprehensive production ecosystem, a stronger international network and wider participation: new customers and international connections for exhibitors, and a broader range of technologies for visitors.
